Wow was I thrilled to hear from Roberta this past Friday!! The newlyweds Roberta and Mike were very recently married (CONGRATS!!!) and decided they wanted a bit more variety in their wedding shots. Day-after sessions are great because they offer couples a way to get just that – more pictures – with less stress and more time!!! I have worked with Roberta before and she is a joy to shoot, so of course I was excited to see her all dolled up in her wedding dress. She looked like a winter princess!! Luckily I was able to do the shoot on very short notice and 2 days later we were galavanting around Waterfront drive and inside the Millenium Centre. It was the day before the shortest day of the year, which made it a race against time to get natural light, and I was forced to use a bounced flash several times. Always bring your flash just in case!! The very dim lighting in some of the rooms at the Millenium Centre gave an awesome eerie effect, check out the drama in those pics! And outside it got dark very quickly, and we were oh-so-lucky to catch the “blue hour”, which is actually only about 15 minutes, where the sky starts turning a fabulous shade of blue while the sun sets. It was truly awesome, and thank goodness for the old-school street lamps on Waterfront drive!! I highly recommend this lighting setup, although you gotta be there at the right time to get the funky glow :)
