Cara & Ken {Married!} 10.10.10

I love Cara and Ken. Love love love. Their spirit, their non-traditional taste, their eagerness to create art regardless of the mosquitoes, mud, burrs, etc. I love that the focus of the wedding day was truly on their connection with each other, and the details absolutely scream Cara and Ken :)

On one of the busiest wedding dates of 2010, Gavin and I drove to Lac Du Bonnet to photograph their wedding, one I knew would be truly amazing :):) It was easily one of the nicest days of the entire year, beautiful, warm, sunny, and with gorgeous fall colours! The wedding was at Cara’s family’s cabin, which was on the lake and had a breathtaking view. The ceremony was on their huge deck overlooking the lake, and all the beautiful details were so beautifully showcased in such an amazing setting. This was one of those weddings that was indeed, like a dream!

I look back on these images so fondly, as the day was so perfect and so full of love and warmth and I could not have felt more welcome! The wonderful families of Cara and Ken made us feel like we were guests as opposed to hired vendors. It was spectacular!

Truthfully, I love to gab about wedding details before the big day with my brides, because it helps me envision the images I want before I even get there. And I am so happy to be able to say that I got those images, every single one! When Cara told me about her “look” I was instantly looking forward to the day even more so! And thanks to Gavin (who is much better with directions and such) who helped me find some awesome locations for the formals, and helped me get some great shots throughout the day!

Oh and a little last minute addition to this post, check out Cara’s awesome blog post (she is a very talented artist!) for details on their hilarious experience after I left that day! Goodtimes….

The images below are a mixture of mine and Gavin’s. Please enjoy, and to see more and be whisked away into a fairytale, watch the slideshow below!

And yes Cara, I am trying to make you cry…..

These tiny chocolates with their engagement photos on the wrapper were one of the many things Cara made herself. on the inside is the password to their online gallery! So cool!

They managed to fold 1000 paper cranes to hang in the main area of the cabin. Gorgeous!

The “First Look” :)

Ken’s last name is Mason, so the mason jars were totally fitting!

The image below takes my breath away every time I see it. Cara, you are truly beautiful!

The markings you see on the wedding bands….they are each other’s fingerprints :):):)

Isaac the ring bearer got a super cool Lego camera as his gift from the couple, and we took a pic of each other at the same time! Thanks Cara for sending me this pic of me in action lol!

Thankyou to everyone involved in making this wedding what it was. Outstanding!
